Scope and Contents

The Papers contain material representative of Barbara Lockard Zimmerman's career during her time at Bowling Green State University. This includes documents and files, photographs, posters, programs, video recordings and scores. These materials document Zimmerman's involvement in Opera for Youth, the Black Swamp Players, a dinner theater series at the First United Methodist Church, and BGSU's College of Musical Arts.

Abstract The collection contains photographic material, about half of which is identified. The photos were taken by Deegan at concert venues in Ohio during the 1970s and early 80s, and include well-known artists such as Genesis, Devo, U2, and Pere Ubu - among many others. Abstract

Photographs and manuscripts created by Great Lakes author James Barry over a nearly 50-year span from the 1960s to the 2010s. Highlights include color slides of Lake Erie and Georgian Bay, drafts of books chapters, and a 1764 French map of the Great Lakes region.

Collection consists of research files compiled by popular culture scholar R. Serge Denisoff during his resarch on MTV Music Television in the 1980s and early 1990s. Collection includes MTV promotional materials and publications, articles clipped or copied from various media sources, Denisoff's notes on MTV, selected papers by other scholars on MTV-related topics, lists of MTV citations in academic and media publications, MTV promotional photographs, and other related material.
