Scope and Contents
330 negatives taken by Charles Brown during his time working at the Sault Ste. Marie (Soo) Locks in the late 1930s. None of the images are dated, with the date ranges for the majority of them being an estimate. The few negatives that can be placed in a definitive year range are those of the UC-97, which was on the Great Lakes from 1919-1921, and the GREEN ISLAND, which was built in 1937. Most of Brown's negatives were taken in and around the Soo, with a small number showing Lake Huron and a trip taken aboard the steamer A.E. NETTLETON.
