Additional material related to Dr. Marsden's work may be found in the archives for The Journal of Popular Film and Television (PCL MS 116) and the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association Archives(PCL MS 044). This collection will be of interest to those studying the history of popular culture studies, as well as those looking to dig deeper into Dr. Marsden's work.

Biographical / Historical

Dr. Michael T. Marsden received his Ph.D. in English (American Literature/Popular Culture Studies) from Bowling Green State University, and holds a B.A. in English (DePaul University) and M.A. in English (Purdue University). He is a published scholar, author, and poet. He is the co-founder and co-editor of the quarterly "Journal of Popular Film and Television". He was co-recipient of the American Culture Association's Governing Board Award for Outstanding Contributions to American Culture Studies in 2002.

Marsden is the past Interim President of the Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association (PCA/ACA), past President of the American Culture Association, past President of the Midwest Association for Canadian Studies, and a past officer of the Popular Culture Association. He received the 1999 Distinguished Service Award from the PCA/ACA. He has served on the PCA/ACA Endowment Council, also serving as Chair.
