Biographical / Historical
In 1914, a small group of Catholics living in Richfield Center, Ohio began petitioning the Diocese for a church of their own. The petition was granted and the congregation began to build their church building. The church was completed in October of 1914. The parish received their first resident pastor that year as well. His name was Reverend Francis C. Schmuck. When the parish received their pastor they began to care for the Mission of Sylvania. This relationship lasted until 1917, when Sylvania received a resident priest. In 1982, the parish of St. Elizabeth lost their resident pastor and became a sister parish of Marygrove. They remain sister parishes to the present.
