Biographical / Historical

St. Aloysius began as a Station of Tiffin in 1837. In 1879, the parish became a Station of Shelby. The parish built its church in 1887. With the building of the church, the status of the parish changed from a Station to a Mission. In 1894, St. Aloysius became a Mission of St. Stephen. Several churches cared for the parish until returning to the care of St. Stephen Catholic Church in 1952. Since 1952, St. Aloysius and St. Stephen Catholic Churches have been sister parishes.
