In February of 1923, the Sisters of St. Francis from Rochester, Minnesota took over Providence Hospital in Sandusky. These sister originally came from the hospital in Minnesota were the Mayo brothers practiced medicine.

The records of Providence Hospital, 1923 - 2001, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio 43403, in December 2001, with the cooperation of Father Phil Suehr of Providence Hospital.
