Scope and Contents
The collection is an extensive congolmeration of numerous newspaper articles and extracts relating to Great Lakes maritime history, and represents the largest of such collections known. Frequent ones to appear include the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Toledo Blade, Detroit Free Press, Detroit News, Chicago Tribune, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Duluth Herald, and their predecessor papers. Smaller runs of specific newspapers such as the Buffalo Courier and Toronto Evening Telegram are also present.
