Founded in 1969, the Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is a governing organization serving the graduate student body at Bowling Green State University. Through legislative efforts, active representation on University committees, and ongoing communication with administration, faculty, staff, and students, the senate strives to enhance graduate students’ academic and social experiences during their time at BGSU. It serves as the chief advocate for graduate student needs and issues throughout the university.
According to the original constitution, the GSS shall represent the graduate student in university affairs, serve as a forum for free discussion of problems facing the graduate student, provide a means of regular and easy interchange of information, establish working relationships with all graduate students, and conduct itself in a manner consistent with the spirit of the procedures and regulations of BGSU.
