The Religious Activities Committee was charged with planning activities on campus that focused on student faith engagement, particularly the annual Religious Emphasis Week which brought Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish religious speakers to campus. The committee had seven members - three faculty, three student representatives and a chairman. Members were named annually by the Protestant, Catholic and Jewish religious groups on campus - one student and one faculty member named by each faith group. The Committee was disbanded by President Moore’s Advisory Council in spring 1974. An overview of the Religious Activites Committee, its purpose and operating principals is available in the January 21, 1958 issue of the BG News.
