The Zonta Club of Bowling Green, Ohio Area Collection serves as a complement to the large number of women’s clubs manuscripts held by the Center for Archival Collections. It also demonstrates the level of community involvement that organization like the Zonta Club have in Bowling Green.
In comparison to many of these organizations, the Zonta Club of Bowling Green is a more recent addition to the community. Researchers who are interested in the history of women’s clubs or of advocacy in the region will find a wealth of information about the contemporary issues faced by the chapter, as well as their modern advocacy.
Of particular interest in the collection are the subject files. The subject files provide insight into the connections between local, regional, national, and international groups. Additionally, researchers in gender studies fields may find the information on empowerment programs for women and girls a valuable resource.
