The collection consists of 90 membership applications with attached supporting documentation. Information in the documentation covers the period from the late 18th century to 1993. Preceding the applications are two indexes. The first index lists applications by the name of the pioneer family. The second index lists families by the name of the descendant applying for membership in Hancock County's Pioneer Families.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
The Pioneer Families of Hancock County were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, with the cooperation of the Hancock County Genealogical Society and Margaret Latham in October of 1993.
