Scope and Contents
The collection is composed of 1,580 color prints and 194 black and white prints and negatives of Great Lakes vessels. All photographs in this collection were taken by Mike Nicholls in the Detroit River and its connecting waterways from 1983-2004. Biographical Sketch
Having formerly worked for Ford in Warren Michigan, Mike Nicholls is a vessel captain working for Diamond Jack River Tours in Wyandotte. Nicholls has been involved in the Marine Historical Society of Detroit for many years. Serving as coeditor of the organization’s newsletter, Nicholls often utilizes the collections housed in the HCGL in his articles.
