Creator

Biographical / Historical

Little is known about Drs. Abraham Huffman and A. Walker whose joint practice created these records. Huffman may have attended or served at Western Reserve College in the period between 1846-1850 (a Huffman appears in the catalogue of officers and students); a day book within the collection indicates some sort of relationship with Cleveland Medical College. Notes in his day book give evidence that Huffman had moved to Woodville, in Sandusky County, Ohio, by 1849 and the 1882 History of Sandusky County, Ohio with Portraits and Biographies of Prominent Citizens and Pioneers, published by H.Z. Williams and Bro., Cleveland, reports that he was one of the earliest physicians within the village of Woodville.

Inscriptions in at least two of the day books demonstrate a partnership with Dr. Walker.
