Historical Note

The parish of St. Pius X Catholic Church was formed from the territory of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in 1952. The Oblate Fathers of St. Francis de Sales were given charge of this new parish. Their first pastor was Reverend William A. Stahl.

Mass was temporarily said at the Colony Theater on Monroe and Central Avenue. By December of 1953, their church and school buildings were ready for use. A convent was added one year later.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The records of St. Pius X Catholic Church were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, in May 2002 with the cooperation of Father Thomas J. Landgraff of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
