The collection consists mostly of subject files on various topics, including the working relationship between the Provost and the University’s colleges, departments, offices, programs, etc. There is also correspondence between the Provost and various presidents, deans, department heads, governing body chairs, etc; memoranda; proposals and official reports from the Provost and other offices; budget planning documents; salary information; meeting minutes; other assorted materials. Most records deal with financial and budgetary concerns, limitations, challenges, and allocations.

There are several boxes with documentation for the J. Preston Levis Regional Computer Center (JPLRCC) from the early 1970s. Materials related to the Ohio Board of Regents (OBOR) also show up frequently.

Biographical / Historical

The office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs is charged with ensuring the quality of the University’s academic programs and aligning the University’s resources with its academic mission. The office focuses on enhancing the student body’s educational experience and supporting the faculty in their teaching and research. These records are a source of information about the budgeting and fund allocation process as well as the distribution of funds and space.
