Biographical / Historical
The goal of Alpha Lamda Delta (according to its national website) is to encourage superior academic achievement among students in their first year in institutions of higher education, to promote intelligent living and a continued high standard of learning, and to assist students in recognizing and developing meaningful goals for their roles in society. The BGSU chapter was started in the beginning of 1966, first as an all-women's organization (as was its national counterpart). Alpha Lambda Delta became co-educational in 1976.
