Abstract

This collection encompasses a large quantity of films of Bowling Green State University athletics events (primarily football and men's basketball games) that have been digitized from their original formats (primarily 16mm and 8mm reels).

Scope and Contents

The bulk of the films in this collection consist of footage from BGSU football and men's basketball games filmed for the purposes of coaches' review/training. There are often a few reels per game, focusing on either offense or defense, particularly for the football games. The basketball footage usually consists of the back-and-forth of the game.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

All films require the use of DVD playback equipment for viewing; a DVD player as well as a remote USB disc drive are available for use at the CAC.

Related Materials

Additional digitized BGSU athletics film footage (including of the women's basketball team) is available and can be found by searching for either "football" or "basketball" in the Center for Archival Collections catalog.

More athletics films are available at the CAC in their original 8mm or 16mm formats; however, the CAC does not have the equipment needed to digitize them. These films can be digitized upon request, with the cost for digitization being the responsibility of the requestor.
