Collection Overview

Abstract

The collection consists of ten volumes of record books, dating from 1859 to 1986, and containing information on membership including baptisms, marriages, and beginning in 1951, funerals. Board minutes are available only for the years 1905-1921. Of special interest is a photocopied record book of the Wyandott Missionary Society, dating from its organization in 1828 to 1847. Included are incorporation documents and membership lists which document the Indians who were members of this Society.

Minutes of the Women's Home Missionary Society, 1903-1904; the Women's Foreign Missionary Society, 1937-1940; and the Women's Society of Christian Service, 1940-1979, complete this collection.

The records of the John Stewart United Methodist Church, Upper Sandusky, Ohio, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections, Bowling Green State University, on August 11, 1986, with the cooperation of Thelma Marsh.
