Biographical / Historical
The Institute for the Study of Culture and Society (ICS) was established in 1996 as a public humanities hub at Bowling Green State University. The aim of the ICS is to "encourage innovation in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, and to communicate the value and significance of that work to the wider public through public events and outreach efforts." Activities of the ICS include "support for faculty collaboration across traditional disciplinary boundaries, and serving as an incubator for innovative research and teaching."
