The collection consists of a set of seventen films taken engineer Matt Ojala during his time sailing on the Great Lakes in the 1950s and 1960s. He carried an 8mm motion picture camera on many of his trips, documenting many of the other vessels that passed by. Some of the vessels include AQUARAMA, SOUTH AMERICAN, and UNITED STATES GYPSUM. Ojala spent a notable portion of his career on the latter. Also included in the collection are a Bell & Howell Autoload film projector and a Sears Du-All Motorized [Film] Editor/Viewer.
