Collection Overview
Abstract
The UA vertical files collection is an intentionally gathered collection, primarily of newspaper clippings, that complements the UA publications collection (UA-0117) and UA photographs collection (UA-0114). As a group, these three collections provide broad ranging information about the history of BGSU, its built environment, and some of the people who have spent time on its campus.

Scope and Contents
The Vertical Files are organized into three separate groupings - Subjects, Buildings and People. The bulk of the collection is made up of newspaper clippings, with some press releases, copies of remarks/speeches, and biographical summaries. In addition some of the Subject files also include photographs.

Immediate Source of Acquisition
This collection was started based on files originally maintained by the BGSU Department of Marketing and Communications and received by the University Archives circa 2015. It has been added to as news articles have appeared in local newspapers and as appropriate materials (such as obituaries and additional publicity) were found in other collections. It is anticipated that additions to this collection will occur on a regular basis.
