The Trinity Lutheran Church collection largely consists of record books which usually contain lists of membership, baptisms, confirmations, marriages, communicants, and deaths, some of which are written in German. Included in this collection are: a family register of Bryan, Georgetown, Edgerton, and Melborn (1898), in German; a record book from St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bryan (1866-1931), in German; a record book from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton (1868-1931), in German; a record book from the Evangelical Lutheran Emmanuel Church, Washington Township, Defiance County (1869-1931), in German; a record book from St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (1862-1947); and a record book from the Trinity Lutheran Church (1934-1947). Other records in the collection consist of minutes and financial reports, including: minutes of the council/congregation of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church (1879-1946), partly in German; minutes/financial records of the Ladies Society of the Emmanuels Lutheran Church, Ney (1926-1929); minutes/treasurer's record of the Northwest Ohio Local Conference (1930-1944); minutes/treasurer's record of the Northwest Ohio Local Conference (1945-1961); minutes/financial records of council/congregation of St. Paul's Lutheran Church (1946-1951); and minutes/financial records of the St. Paul Ladies Aid Missionary Society (1945-1961).

Immediate Source of Acquisition

The records of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, Ohio, were transferred for microfilming to the Center for Archival Collections in September 1982 with the cooperation of Rev. Richard Buchsteiner and the Genealogical Society of Utah.
