This collection contains ceritifcations and other materials obtained by sailor Richard D. Timbers while serving on the Great Lakes in 1943-1944. Included are pay stubs, identification documents, postcards written to Timbers' brother(?) Dwight, and federal seaman's certificates. Also present are membership books for the National Maritime Union of America and the International Association of Machinists.

The collection contains publications, correspondence, and manuscript materials both collected and written by Dr. Richard J. Wright, founder of the Center for Archival Collections.

The Robert J. Dodge collection dates from 1887 to 1982 and includes correspondence, personal papers, literary productions, news clippings, maps, printed materials, and photographs focusing on Put-in-Bay and South Bass Island, Ohio.

This collection is composed of 58 black and white photos of Great Lakes vessels. These 8 x 10 photos were taken at Indiana Harbor, Indiana in the early 1950s.

This collection is composed of shipping documents from the Sault Ste. Marie area and nearby ports from 1802-1866. Among these documents are shipping manifests, clearance documents, bills of sale, enrollment bonds, Treasury Department circulars to custom collectors at the Port of Sault Ste. Marie and nearby ports, and personal and business correspondence. Early documentation includes significant material dealing with the American Fur Company.
