The collection mostly spans the pre-war and post-war period from 1854 through 1898.

Searight family papers
The personal correspondence of the Searight family of Fayette County, Pennsylvania; Canton, Ohio; and South Bend, Indiana, dates from 1839 to 1898. The bulk of the collection falls during the Civil War period and provides ample information on daily life of the times. The correspondents comment upon political, social, educational, recreational, economic, and personal concerns.
Searles family papers
The Searles family papers consist of Civil War era documents, primarily the correspondence of Addison and Alfred D. Searles from 1856 through 1864. The collection also includes the military pension files for the Searles Brothers, as well as those of Philip and Henry Setzler, who were relatives by marriage.
Seitz family papers
The papers of the Michael Seitz and Charles S. Seitz families consists of financial ledgers and other records spanning the period from 1862-1929. It consists primarily of account records related to the farming operation of Michael Seitz in Washington Township, Wood County, Ohio.

Sister Miriam Joseph Rauh collection
The Sister Miriam Joseph Rauh collection was originally developed and donated by Ettie Rieman of the Ottawa Historical Society in Ottawa, Ohio as part of a project on Women of Putnam County. With the help of Marguerite Calvin, a writer for the Putnam County Sentinel and Sister Assunta, a friend of Joseph’s, Rieman collected the archival materials that form this collection.
