The collection consists of four volumes of Record Books dating from 1869 to 2003 and one Minute Book, dating from 1869 to 1932. The Record Books contain such membership information as baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and burials. The Minute Book includes the constitution, membership listing and meeting minutes.

The collection consists of four volumes of Record Books. The two earliest volumes are written in German. All contain baptisms, confirmations, marriages, and deaths. The last volume also contains burial records.

The Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church collection consists of two record books. The first (1848-1928) includes the church constitution and a family register which lists date and place of birth, baptism, sponsors, confirmation, marriage, death, and place of burial. The second volume (1867-1983) contains baptisms, confirmations, marriages, deaths, and a list of pastors.

The Samuel H. Sterner Negative Collection consists of nineteen 4 x 5 inch and one hundred sixty-two 5 x 7 inch glass plate negatives produced by Sterner in the early twentieth century in the Findlay, Ohio area, using a 6.3 Goertz lens and a double extension bellows view camera.

The Samuel O. Chamberlain papers consist of Civil War era personal correspondence from 1861-1865 and post-war personal correspondence, some pension information, transcribed letters, and printed material from 1868-1925.

The Sandusky Business College records date from 1890-1949 and are comprised of student records, financial records, and published material regarding the school. A financial ledger from a Dry Goods and Grocery Store in Flat Rock, Ohio, dating from 1851-1868, is also included in this collection. It was later used as a scrapbook for newspaper clippings.
