Collection Overview

Scope and Contents

This collection contains several hundred record flats from the 1980s to the early 2000s. Record flats were promotional materials, usually for record stores, that are usually 12 inches square and were used by record labels to promote new releases and artists. The artists included on the flats cover many musical genres, including pop, rock, jazz and comedy. Most of these flats are 12"x12" squares but some are in shapes such as circles.
