Scope and Contents
The Jonathan Slott Collection is comprised of correspondence; radio, television, book, and moving picture manuscripts; a business activities diary; and a photograph. The correspondence is arranged alphabetically by correspondent. The manuscripts are arranged alphabetically by title including related materials such as outlines, proposals, and synopses.
Researchers will find the correspondence concerning the book manuscripts most interesting. Slott received critiques of his manuscripts from several people, including Irving Wallace. Suggestions for improvements are included in this series.
Researchers interested in radio and early television scripts will find this collection valuable to their research.
Biographical / Historical
Jonathan Slott was a retired writer, director, and producer of radio, television, and moving pictures. He was also active in public relations, political campaigns, and the fundraising business. Slott wrote several books, but they were never published. He used radio scripts as a basis for television and moving picture productions. Slott died March 2, 1998.
