The Isaac Sequeira Papers consist of a photocopied article written by Isaac Sequeira as well as notes for two additional lectures. The chapter "The Impact of American Culture on India" appeared in New Perspectives on America and South Asia. The two lectures are titled "Indian and Werstern Music: Conflict, Confluence, Synthesis" and "The Impact of Latin American Music on North American Music". The lectures were originally presented using audio tapes and illustrated slides, but these are not included in this collection.

Biographical / Historical

Isaac Sequeira (1930-2006) was a scholar of popular culture, particularly music. He was former director of the Indo-American Centre for International Studies (formerly American Studies Research Centre, ASRC) at Osmania University Campus, Hyderabad, India. He was a visiting professor of popular culture at Bowling Green State University during the 1979-1980 school year as well as the spring semester of 1989.
