Scope and Contents
The Becky Barker Papers consist of original and edited manuscripts, proofs, galleys, synopses, cover art (photographs, sketches and prints), sample book covers, autographed bookmarks, author corrections, publisher's agreement, copyright form and one unpublished manuscript. This collection shows the full range of what an author needed to do in order to publish during the late 1980s and 1990s.
Biographical / Historical
Becky Barker is an established author who specializes in contemporary romances. Many of her novels have a western theme. She has also published the Prescott Pilot Series of romance books. All of her manuscripts incorporate some suspense and/or humor within the overall theme of the book.
Becky Barker published her first book, Captured by a Cowboy with Dell's Candlelight Ecstasy line in 1987. She then moved on to publish five books as part of Meteor's Kismet romances, and has since published for both Kensington and Silhouette. SHe is currently revising and reissuing many of her older books on her own, as well as releasing new books.
Becy Barker lives with her husband in rural Ohio.
