The Florence Hershman Papers consist of the printer's manuscript for The Moreland Legacy, the second book written by the author under the pen name Diana Haviland.

Biographical / Historical

Florence Hershman (1928-2008) began her writing career in 1977 with The Passionate Pretenders, written under the pen name Diana Haviland. The book became a New York Times bestseller. Later that same year she published The Moreland Legacy, which is the subject of this collection.

She would go on to write 15 more historical sagas under the names of Diana Haviland and Diana Browning. She receive Romantic Times’ award for “Best Historical Saga” and the West Coast Review of Books’ “Porgie.” Florence was a charter member of the Romance Writers of America New York City chapter.

Florence Hershman passed away on July 4, 2008.
