Scope and Contents

The materials in this collection date from approximately 1987 to 2001 and include files of minutes, agenda, correspondence and notes pertaining to meetings and issues relevant to the CPCCM. A consortium prospectus, collection development documents, internship information, cooperative loan agreements and similar materials are also included in the collection.

Biographical / Historical

The Consortium of Popular Culture Collections in the Midwest (CPCCM) was established in 1990 with its archives being housed at the Browne Popular Culture Library. Founding members included Bowling Green State University, Michigan State University and Ohio State University. Kent State University joined in 1991. Cleveland State University was added to the membership in 2003. Oberlin College and the Ohio Historial Society became members in 2004 and 2005, respectively. The member libraries composing the consortium share a similar collecting focus in related subjects and a geographic proximity which permits collaborative efforts and resource sharing. The Browne Popular Culture Library serves as the repository for materials related to the consortium.
