Scope and Contents

The Monica McCarty Papers primarily consist of edited manuscripts and galley proofs for Monica McCarty's novels from 2007-2018. There are also selected cover proofs and mock-ups. The time spanned by the collection allows researchers to look at changes in the publishing industry during a tumultuous time. Researchers can see the move from handwritten comments on a typed manuscript to changes made in a word processing program. Researchers can also examine the changes in a long-running series when an author changes publishers. Changes in the cover art process can also be seen within the collection.
