Biography

Jordin T. Kare was a filk composer, performer, and recording artist. Along with Teri Lee and Catherine MacDonald (then Cook), Kare co-founded Off Centaur Records and co-authored the Westerfilk Collection. As a performer, Kare published two albums and won two Pegasus awards. Kare was also a physicist and aerospace engineer known for his research on laser propulsion. In particular, he was responsible for Mockingbird, a conceptual design for an extremely small reusable launch vehicle, and was involved in the Clementine lunar mapping mission. Kare passed away in July 2017.
